QENA, Upper Egypt - 27 September 2018: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected on Thursday New Qena city, one of the major development projects in the Upper Egypt governorate of Qena.

The premier was accompanied by Local Development Minister Mahmoud Sharawi and Qena Governor Abdel Hamid el Haggan.

The prime minister made a tour of housing, facilities and infrastructure projects and listened to an explanation on work progress at these projects.

Madbouli was briefed about the water refining station in the New Qena city which is established on an area of 25,000 square feet and operates at production capacity of about 23,500 m3/day .

Cost of the water refining station project amounted to EGP 2017 million.

Madbouli has praised the great volume of building and construction that the new city has witnessed over the past two years, asserting that the city is awaiting a promising future, where all facilities and services are offered.

Madbouli as well paid a visit to
Tahya Masr Integrated Language School.

The New Qena city was established on Qena - Safaga Road on an area of 24,200 feddans. It is set to be divided into residential, educational, service, industrial and tourist zones with investments amounting to EGP 1.4 billion.
