Turki Al-Sheikh to withdraw his sport investments from Egypt

CAIRO – 25 September 2018: Head of Saudi Arabia's General Sports Authority Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Sheikh will withdrew his sport investments from Egypt; contracts of important players at Pyramids club were sold.

On Monday, Sheikh revealed that he seriously considers withdrawing his sport investments from Egypt.



In this regard, Pyramids Club announced on Tuesday that the club’s administration will be run by Hossam al-Badri, Ahmed Hassan and Hadi Khashaba after Sheikh officially declared his intention to withdraw his sport investments from Egypt.

Football presenter at Pyramids Night program Medhat Shalaby referred that Sheikh brought the players contracts with foreign clubs.

Furthermore, sources close to the head of the General Sports Authority in Saudi Arabia remarked that he is committed to the contracts of each employee at Pyramids Club and to the rights of employees at Pyramids channel.

In June, Al-Assiouty Sports Club was officially sold to a Saudi investor who changed its name to Pyramids FC. Many reports claimed that Turki Al-Sheikh, head of Saudi Arabia's General Sports Authority, is the owner of Pyramids FC.

Former Al-Ahly coach, Hossam el-Badry, was appointed chairman of Pyraminds club; former Al-Ahly, Zamalek, Anderlecht and most capped international footballer, Ahmed Hassan, was appointed spokesman and football team supervisor; former Al-Ahly defender, Hady Khashaba, was appointed football director, and former Brazilian club, Botafago's coach, Alberto Valentim, was appointed coach.

Pyramids FC made numerous signings going into the new season, as they earlier confirmed the signing of Zamalek midfielder Ahmed Tawfik, Brazilian duo Marcos da Silva Franca and Lucas Ribamar, alongside Arab Contractors’ Mohamed Farouk.
