CAIRO - 19 September 2018: The Doqqi district court of appeal decided during a session Wednesday to hand down a suspended three-year imprisonment term to lawyer Khaled Ali over committing an indecent act.

He had been sentenced to three years in priosn in September last year and slapped an EGP 1,000-bail to suspend the sentence to file an appeal.

During a demonstration last year to protest against a court ruling in a case connected with border maritime demarcation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Ali committed an indecent act using his fingers.

The demonstration took place following the ruling on Tiran and Sanfir islands which had been handed by Egypt to Saudi Arabia.
