CAIRO – 13 September 2018: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark headed to the United States to begin his second pastoral visit.

The pope's first official visit to the U.S took place in 2015, where he met with the Coptic community, local leaders and U.S. government and religious leaders.

The pope's second visit was due last year, but it was postponed as the pope had to undergo a surgery.

Pope Tawadros II received Sunday United Religions Initiative at the United Nations envoy Ambassador Mussie Hailu at the St. Mark Cathedral in Abbassiya.

Head of the International Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Amany Asfour accompanied Hailu during the meeting.
