CAIRO - 12 September 2018: The Arab League council stressed on Wednesday its support for Libya's security and stability and reiterated its rejection of any interference in Libyan affairs.

This came in a communique issued by the council after its 150th ordinary session held at the level of Arab foreign ministers.

The council also reiterated its support for the Government of National Accord in Libya in its efforts to fight terrorist groups in the north African country and maintain the country's sovereignty.

It also urged a comprehensive political settlement to the Libyan crisis and voiced its support for the Libyan political agreement signed in the Moroccan city of Skhirat on December 17, 2015.

It also called on the UN Security Council to lift an arms embargo on Libya and hailed Egypt's hosting of meetings to unify the Libyan military.
