Sisi inspects development projects in Galala plateau

CAIRO - 7 September 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi embarked an inspection tour of a number of urban and service projects being carried out at the City of Galala Mountain in the Red Sea area between Ain Sokhna and Zafarana on Friday, according to a statement issued by presidential spokesperson Bassam Radi.

Sisi reviewed the latest developments of this integrated project, hailing the efforts exerted in implementing this great project according to the set timetable.

He asserted the importance of this project in achieving development and establishing urban communities, as well as providing a decent life worthy of Egypt's future, which the Egyptian people look forward to building.

“President Sisi listened to detailed explanation of the integrated development project. Sisi paid a visit also to the giant water desalination plant in the Galala city with a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters per day. Then, he moved over the upper bridge and visited the Aqua Park of the Galala Marina,” Radi added.

Sisi concluded his visit to Galala City by inspecting the under construction university's headquarters and the phosphate and marble factory.

Radi revealed that the president, during the tour, met with a number of engineers, contractors and employees of the national companies executing the project in cooperation with the Armed Forces. “Sisi praised the efforts exerted to complete the project in accordance with international standards,” Radi stressed.

He explained that Sisi pays attention to this project because of its consequences on the investment movement, tourism and industry, as well as the benefits of the clean environment and moderate temperature in the Galala Mountain.

The Galala Mountain project is one of over 253 national projects that the military engineering authority is supervising nationwide.

1. The International Galala City is located over 17,500 acres

2. The city is located 700 meters above sea level

3. Its coastal hotel consists of 297 rooms, 28 villas attached to the hotel and 48 chalets

4. More than 55 companies are investing in the Galala project

5. It provides employment to 80,000 workers, employees and engineers

6. The Aquapark city includes 18 games and three swimming pools. It has the largest Teleferique (cable cars) in the Middle East region

7. The University of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz is about 7 kilometers away
