CAIRO – 31 July 2018: Grand Mufti of Egypt Shawki Allam met with Bahraini Minister of Education Majed Bin Ali Al Noaimi on Tuesday to discuss boosting cooperation in religious affairs between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Grand Mufti highlighted the deep historical relations and ongoing cooperation in various fields between Egypt and Bahrain.

Allam also affirmed that Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta (House of religious edicts) is fully prepared to provide all the required support and training in the field of Islamic law and jurisprudence to Bahraini Islamic scholars.

Dar Al-Ifta, according to Allam, is issuing fatwas and replying to questions in 12 different languages.

Moreover, Allam pointed out that Dar Al-Ifta’s Observatory of Takfiri Fatwas and Extremist Views is playing a significant role in combating and eradicating extremism.

The observatory is continuously analyzing and responding to all the extremist opinions and fatwas; it issued more than 180 reports on various subjects so far.

For his part, the Bahraini Education Minister commended the efforts exerted by Dar al-Ifta to spread moderate Islam and countering extremism; pointing out that Al-Azhar has the necessary efficiency, ability and knowledge to form an impenetrable wall against extremism that seeks to overshadow the world.
