CAIRO - 29 July 2018: Cairo Criminal Court announced on Sunday that it will issue on August 12 its verdict in the retrial case of supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Mohamed Badie and seven other prominent leaders of the terrorist group over inciting and committing acts of violence in Giza's El Bahr El Azam district.

The retrial came after the Court of Cassation's verdict to abolish a 25-year-imprisonment sentences issued in 2014 against the defendants.

The defendants include prominent MB leaders such as Badie, Mohamed el Beltagy and Essam el Erian.

They are accused of inciting violence, terror and murder, as well as forming a gang to attack citizens and supplying it with arms and funds.

They are also charged with damaging private property and possessing arms.

Five were killed and scores injured in the violent incidents of El Bahr El Azam area of Giza and in the vicinity of the nearby Cairo University late on July 15, 2013 when fire-fights broke out between protesters supporting deposed president Mohamad Morsi and unknown assailants.
