CAIRO - 21 May 2017: The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) will start a campaign to seize unregistered SIM cards and smuggled cell phones across the nation by the end of this week, according to Al-Borsa News website.

NTRA has already executed 25 campaigns last year on a number of telecommunication shops which sell unregistered cell phones and SIM cards all over the country.

In January 2015, Urgent Matters sector of Economic Court ruled to ban selling unregistered SIM cards, stating that they are dangerous to national security, since they are used in remote detonation, in addition to them not being subject to tracking, Al-Borsa news also stated.
