CAIRO - 9 July 2018: Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah met on Monday with Egypt's Acting Chargé d'affaires in Kabul Hani Salah, discussing cooperation and issues of mutual concern.

In statements, Salah said the meeting touched on events, set to be organized in Cairo and Kabul this year, celebrating the 90th anniversary of signing a treaty of friendship between the two countries in 1928.

Abdullah commended the vital role of Al-Azhar envoys to Afghanistan in spreading moderate Islam without extremism.

The Egyptian diplomat met also with Afghan Foreign Minister Hekmat Karzai, as they agreed on holding first political consultations between both countries at the level of deputy ministers at the last quarter of this year.
