CAIRO - 9 July 2018: The Court of Cassation decided on Monday to delay to September 24 examining the challenges filed by defendants accused of storming Kerdasa police station and killing the station chief, his deputy and 12 policemen.

Earlier, the Cairo Criminal Court sentenced 20 defendants to death. The court also sentenced 80 people to life in prison and 34 others to 15 years in jail.

The police station in Kerdasa was attacked on August 14, 2013 in deadly violence acts.

The violence followed a crackdown by security forces on sit-in protest camps in Cairo and Giza staged in support of ousted president Mohamed Morsi.
