CAIRO – 9 July 2018: A British woman has died after being exposed to the nerve agent Novichok in western England, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement on Sunday. The victim was named as Dawn Sturgess, aged 44.

Police had been working to discover how she and a 45-year-old man had come across an item contaminated with Novichok, the same toxin used in an attack on Russian ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter four months ago.
