CAIRO - 6 July 2018: Egyptian and French Armed Forces continued their joint naval drill at the Red Sea naval base on Friday, which lasted for several days.

The drill depended on the modern techniques to face naval security threats, counter-terrorism, protecting the vital targets against unprecedented threats, practicing day/night navigation signals, implementing the naval formations, training to protect ships with important cargo, and training to provide supplies through the sea.

The drill is part of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ efforts to enhance its military capabilities by performing joint trainings with other friendly countries’ armed forces, which enables it to recognize the modern military techniques.

In late June, Egypt, Cyprus and Greece conducted a joint naval and air drill in the Mediterranean Sea, dubbed Medusa 6, including land, sea and air shows for the participating special forces along the coast.

CAIRO - 28 June 2018: Egyptian Defense Minister Lt General Mohamed Zaki and his Cypriot and Greek counterparts on Thursday attended a joint naval and air drill in the Mediterranean Sea. The drill, dubbed Medusa 6, includes land, sea and air shows for the participating special forces along the coast.




Defense Minister Lt General Mohamed Zaki, leading a high-profile military delegation, visited Paris on July 2, Monday on a several-day visit.

The defense minister held series of meetings with senior military officials in France, on top o f them his French counterpart Florence Parly, to discuss means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the military domain.

During his stay in Paris, the minister discussed a host of regional and international issues, as well as the latest developments in the Middle East region.
