CAIRO - 28 June 2018: Head of the Public Education Sector Reda Hegazy on Thursday denied that Thanaweya Amma's (high school certificate) exam of chemistry was leaked.

In press statements, Hegazy said the ministry contacted officials at the sovereign body responsible for printing the exams, who described as baseless what was circulated on social media platforms about leaking questions of the chemistry subject.

The officials asserted that the questions posted on the internet are not at all part of the chemistry exam which students are taking today.

Nearly half a million students sit for the Thanaweya Amma exams nationwide every year.

Thanaweya Amma is series of standardized tests that lead to the General Secondary Education Certificate for public secondary schools and serves as the entrance examination for Egyptian public universities.
