CAIRO – 27 June 2018: On Wednesday, President Abdel Fatah al- Sisi received Chen Minar, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and an accompanying party delegation.

The meeting was attended by members of the CPC, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, and Chinese Ambassador to Cairo Song Aiguo.

In a presidential statement on Wednesday, Bassam Radi, presidential spokesperson, stated that the president hailed the noticeable development of the bilateral relations between Egypt and China, which is culminated in realizing a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields.

The president also pointed out Egypt’s commitment to boost economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, stressing his keenness to attract more Chinese investments to the Egypt, especially in light of the various investment opportunities provided by the Comprehensive economic reform program and buoyed up by current security and stability in Egypt.

The spokesman added that Minar affirmed his country's great appreciation for the pivotal role that Egypt plays in pursuit of regional peace, security and development, praising the high level of coordination between Egypt and China.

He also pointed out China's keenness to further promote and develop bilateral relations in all fields to meet the aspirations of both the Egyptian and Chinese peoples, affirming the Chinese government and people’s admiration of the Egyptian civilization and the deep-rooted ties between the two countries.

On the regional front, Radi further explained that President Sisi stressed that Egypt has long maintained a consistent policy of supporting political solutions to the regional crises, adding that Egypt forever supports the consolidation of the state institutions and the national armies, and rejects foreign interference in the internal affairs of all countries.

Minar and his accompanying delegation arrived in Cairo on Wednesday for a two-day visit as part of a regional tour.

How Egyptian-Chinese ties developed during Sisi's presidency

CAIRO - 4 September 2017: Since President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi came to power, the relationship between Egypt and China has developed. Five Egyptian-Chinese summits have been held in the last three years which means that about one-third of all summit meetings between the two countries in history were held by Sisi's presidency in only three years.
