CAIRO – 24 June 2018: Head of the Egyptian delegation participating in an Arab League session on Palestinian educational affairs on Sunday renewed Cairo's firm support for the Palestinian cause, calling for more efforts to back the Palestinian educational process against Israeli attempts to impose its own curriculum on Palestinian schools in East Jerusalem.

Hanan Hassan Moftah, the director general of the cultural affairs department of the Egyptian Education Ministry, stressed the need to show Arab solidarity in the face of Israel's anti-Palestinian schemes.

Moftah's remarks were made on the sidelines of the 78th session of the Arab League's Educational Affairs Council on Palestine that kicked off here today.

Also, she reaffirmed Egypt's stance rejecting Israeli violence in the Gaza Strip and violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces.

The AL urged the Quartet on the Middle East to protect the Palestinian people against the Israeli practices, she said.

At the end of her speech, Moftah announced that Egypt is relinquishing its presidency of the session to the Palestinian delegation in honor of the Palestinian state.
