CAIRO - 23 June 2018: Egypt strongly condemned the assassination attempt against Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, rejecting any bid that harms the security and stability of the African country.

In a statement on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry extended condolences to the Ethiopian government and people and the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

Egypt expressed confidence in the ability of the Ethiopian government to achieve security and stability in order to fulfill the aspirations of its people, the statement read.
