300 military industrial companies to participate in EDEX

CAIRO – 4 June 2018: A total of 300 prominent military companies and institutions such as the Ministry of Military Production, Alexandria Tersana Company, the Arab Organization for Industrialization and others from all over the world are expected to participate in the Egypt Defense Expo – EDEX scheduled for December.

The military exhibition, which is expected to promote for Egypt as one of the strongest countries in the MENA region that own advanced military systems, received many requests from most of the leading international and local exhibitors specializing in military and defense products and solutions, according to an official statement issued on Monday.

Seven main arms departments of the United States, China, Russia, France, Germany, Italy and UAE will be included within the exhibition that will be hosted at Egypt's International Exhibition Center in The fifth Settlement (el-Tagamoa El Khamis) on December 3-5, 2018. The exhibition will also include several educational lectures by different military authorities participating in the event.

Minister of Military Production Mohamed al-Assar commented on the event saying that Egypt has became a key player regarding the military systems in the region during the past period, which enhanced its capability to host EDEX for the first time in Africa.

British Clarion Events Company which promotes for the exhibition made several visits for countries like UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, Jordon and Malaysia to invite them to participate and present their latest military developments at EDEX in Egypt; accordingly, several nationalities are expected to be taking part in the exhibition.

“We are sure that Egypt is one of the best countries that could be hosting EDEX; we also believe that the event will occupy a leading position among the security and defense events of this year,” EDEX event manager Thomas Gaunt said.

He added that participating requests to present at the exhibition are "great"; hoping for more participation from the Egyptian market and from countries all over the world.

French Dassault Aviation Aircraft manufacturing company announced to be one of the exhibition sponsors in Egypt, along with MBDA and Alkan CIT.
