CAIRO – 9 May 2018: Sources close to EgyptAir Corporation have confirmed that the intention of conducting flights between Cairo International Airport and Libya during the coming summer season is currently being widely considered.

The sources added that the airports that will be used during the flights will be highly secured and ready to facilitate flights to Tripoli and Benghazi.

The sources confirmed that the flights will be operating this current year, within a matter of a few months.

Furthermore, the sources stated that a committee from the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority visited Benghazi at the end of last year and met with Libyan officials to discuss the possibility of operating flights between Cairo and Benghazi once again.

It is worth noting that the Civil Aviation Authority in Egypt has stopped flights between Cairo International Airport and Benghazi International Airport for four years because of political instability and turmoil in Libya.
