CAIRO – 7 May 2018: Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser Al-Qadi affirmed in statements on Monday that the country is currently obtaining the highest capabilities in E-learning and that the government will be able to apply it after preparing the suitable educational content.

Commenting on the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed on Sunday, May 6 between Egypt and UAE to develop the E-learning capabilities in Egypt, Qadi said that this MOU will help establish a new advanced educational system.

The MOU was signed between UAE’s Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University and Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) regarding developing the E-learning system in Egypt.

“Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University has a rich experience using technology in the educational system,” Qadi told Egyptian national television early Monday.

The three-year-cooperation memo signed on Sunday is supposed to guarantee a high standard of E-learning in Egypt by establishing several centers to manage and monitor the educational curriculum and guarantee that it becomes more suitable for Egypt’s new educational approach that will depend more on technology.

The new system, anticipated to begin by the coming 2018/2019 academic year, has raised a lot of controversy, as some people still have doubts regarding its applicability.
