CAIRO – 10 May 2017: The Supreme Council of Antiquities agreed to postpone the increase in the price of tickets to visit archaeological sites and museums for foreigners and Egyptians. The increase will be implemented as of November 1, 2017 instead of the October 1, 2017.

The Council also decided to not open the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, Cairo and Museum of Islamic Art during the night in the holy month of Ramadan.

These decisions were also aimed at increasing the fees for the use of the tram which is used to transport visitors from the base of the Saladin Citadel of Cairo to its main attractions.
