CAIRO - 2 May 2018: Egypt strongly condemned the the suicide blast that hit the premises of Libya’s electoral commission in Tripoli leaving a number of the commission members and civilians dead and injured.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry extended condolences to the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery for the wounded.

It stressed support for the Libyan people and government in encountering all forms of violence and terrorism and realizing security and stability.

The ministry renewed Cairo's call on the world community to assume its responsibilities by working to dry up the financial resources of terrorist groups and deny them safe havens, urging for increased efforts to stop arms smuggling to the Libyan territories.
