CAIRO – 9 May 2017: An attempt to traffic a Pharaonic scribe statue for profit was foiled on Tuesday by the Tourism and Antiquities Police in the New Valley governorate.

Police forces seized the artifact during a raid on the residence of Ashraf Y., 37 year-old driver, in New Valley upon receiving information. The necessary legal procedures were taken after the culprit’s confession.

This came within the framework of the plan set by Assistant Minister of Interior Hossam Nasr to preserve the country’s wealth and national heritage, and secure archaeological areas
