CAIRO - 16 April 2018: Egypt's Al Azhar has praised an initiative by Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz to name the Arab Summit in Dhahran "Al Quds Summit".

The summit stressed that the Palestinian cause remains the central issue of the Arab world.

The Saudi king also said that the Kingdom would allocate 150 million dollars for a program to support the Palestinian Awqaf in Al Quds and 50 million dollars for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

Al Azhar also greatly appreciated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's speech in which he reiterated support for the struggle of the Palestinian people.
