CAIRO – 8 April 2018: The website Qatarileaks revealed the role of a prominent Qatari officer named Jaber Al Mesha’ab in supporting terrorist militias in the region, particularly ISIS. Mesha’ab is a member of “Lekhwiya”, a Qatari security forces formed in 2003 that currently operates under the direct leadership of Emir Tamim Bin Hamad.

Mesha’ab has been actively posting supportive tweets of terrorist groups through his official Twitter account. The Qatari officer constantly mourned the terrorist militants who died in action in Syria.

In another tweet in 2013, Mesha’ab praised the advancement of extremist armed militias in parts of the Syrian capital Damascus. The extremist officer is considered to be the coordinator between the regime in Qatar and extremist groups in Syria, Iraq and Egypt.

Qatarileaks revealed as well the shady connection between Mesha’ab and wealthy, controversial Kuwaiti Salafist Hajjaj al-Ajmi, who was accused in 2016 of funding terrorist groups in the Middle East, such as Al-Qaeda-affiliated Al Nusra Front in Syria. Nonetheless, the rich gas emirate placed Ajmi on its terror list in March.

Since June 5, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have turned on Qatar with a complete air and trade boycott over allegations of its support of terrorism, which Doha repeatedly denies.
