CAIRO – 7 April 2018: Egypt's parliament will debate three main bills in the coming period, notably the Criminal Procedure Code, said MP Ehab al-Tamawy, secretary of the constitutional and legislative affairs committee in parliament.

He added that the committee is keen to produce the law in best form that is consistent with the provisions of the Constitution and achieves justice for everyone.

Another bill is the protection of competition and prevention of monopoly, Tamawy said, adding that this law will achieve balance in the Egyptian market and prevent monopolistic practices that lead to price hikes.

The Parliament will also discuss the budget bill of the Ministry of Justice contained in the draft general budget for the fiscal year 2018/2019.

The parliament’s current session started in October 2017 and will last until June 2018.
