CAIRO - 1 April 2018: A comprehensive medical survey of non contagious diseases started Sunday, the Health Ministry announced on Sunday.

The survey is meant to early detect diseases such as diabetes, blood pressure and obesity, as well as Hepatitis C virus, said Health Minister Ahmed Emad Edin Radi.

The survey will be conducted at 87 positions in 26 governorates, Radi added.

It is part of an expanded national campaign, which started February 13, to eliminate Hepatitis C virus by 2020, the minister noted.

The survey should target 43 million citizens in two years, he said, adding that it covers the age group between 18 and 59 years old.
