CAIRO – 26 March 2018: Head of Judges’ Club Mohamed Abdel Mohsen said that the club checks on election process, to provide judges and prosecutors with live updates.

Abdel Mohsen said that he contacted South and North Sinai polling stations’ supervising judges to make sure everything runs properly. He added that they praised the cooperation of police and army men with them.

Abdel Mohsen also affirmed that all polling stations opened on time, and everything there is in order.

According to the National Election Authority (NEA), a number of 18,620 judges are supervising the election that started Monday, in a race pitting incumbent President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi against Al-Ghad party chairperson, Moussa Moustafa Moussa.

Supervising judges include 8,420 regular judges, 4,800 administrative prosecutors, 3,300 judges from State Lawsuits Authority and 2,100 judges from State Council.

Deputy Foreign Minister Hamdy Sanad Loza said on Thursday that five regional and international organizations would participate in observing the presidential election nationwide. These organizations are the Arab League (AL), African Union (AU), Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly in addition to COMESA-CEN-SAD.
