CAIRO – 21 March 2018: On Tuesday, Egypt provided the Congolese National Radio and Television (RNTC) with a shipment of pharmaceutical aid that will go toward the development of its clinic.

In the presence of Nicole Dimbambu Kitoko, director of the Congolese National Radio and Television, and amid remarkable media attention, the Egyptian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo Yousry Mohamed Khalil handed over a shipment of pharmaceutical aid from the Egyptian Agency for Partnership.

The ambassador pointed out that Congolese–Egyptian relations have enjoyed impressive momentum over the previous period, and were further boosted by the recent visit of President of the Congo, Joseph Kabila, to Egypt in April 2017. "His visit highlighted the Egyptian government's full commitment to provide all means of support to the Congolese people across various fields and sectors."

Egypt is considered the foremost country to have ever provided cadre training and courses for the Congolese people, the ambassador added, underlying the long-standing and historical people-to-people ties since the Congo gained its independence in the early sixties.

For his part, the director of the Congolese National Radio and Television Company extended his deep thanks to Egypt for being one of the most recent supporters of the regime and the Congolese people, adding that this shipment will help deliver better treatment to thousands of Congolese citizens who regularly frequent the clinic.

Congolese President Kabila visited Egypt in April 2017 and joined President Abdel Fatah el Sisi in a number of bilateral meetings, and a press conference, in which both expressed their full readiness to move forward in deepening mutual relations between the two nations.
