CAIRO - 17 March 2018: The state-owned airline EGYPTAIR denied that one of its jets made an emergency landing due to finding a Cobra snake aboard a flight to Kuwait, in official statement released Saturday.

“The national carrier denounces attempts of some news sites trying to defame its leading status by reposting false and old stories that date back to the year 2012,” EGYPTAIR statement reads.

The news of EGYPTAIR has been posted by several news websites and shared by social media, which triggered mockery of users.

EGYPTAIR urged the media to check accuracy of the news, and asserted the necessity for coordination with EGYPTAIR Media Center to assure the robustness of the news for maintaining transparency and credibility before public opinion.

The statement affirmed that it is taking all legal actions which ensure its rights against any entity aiming to defame its status.

EGYPTAIR is one of the world’s pioneer airlines. Established in May of 1932, to be the seventh carrier in the world.

On July 17, 2008, EGYPTAIR joined the Star Alliance network, the largest airline alliance in the world.
