KUWAIT CITY - 3 March 2018: Preparations for the Egyptian presidential election are over in Kuwait, said Ambassador Tareq el Quni on Saturday.

The embassy is in contact with Kuwaiti authorities to facilitate the voting process, slated for March 16-18, Quni told MENA.

Turnout for Egyptians expat polls in Kuwait has always been the biggest worldwide, the diplomat noted.

That's why the Foreign Ministry agreed to increase the number of assistants sent to help with the voting process in Kuwait, Quni said.

Eligible voters should cast their ballots inside an embassy room equipped with tablets to expedite the process, the diplomat added.

A lane has been set for elderly voters, persons with disabilities and women, he further said.

Wheelchairs and a qualified medical team are also available to deal with any emergencies, Quni added.

On Wednesday, Quni met with Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled al Jarah to discuss efforts to secure the voting process.

Sheikh Khaled assured Quni that the Kuwaiti authorities will act to ease any obstacles that might face the embassy to guarantee a successful vote.

Quni urged the Egyptian community in Kuwait to continue, as always, to be a model of high turnout for elections.

Egyptians should be keen on exercising their constitutional right and participating in the upcoming presidential election, the diplomat said, seeing in that a national duty.
