PARIS - 23 February 2018: French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian will have talks with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry and Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit in Brussels on Monday to discuss efforts exerted to reviving the stalled Middle East peace process.

The meetings will be held on the sidelines of a meeting of the European Council of Foreign Affairs, French foreign ministry spokeswoman Agnes Von der Muhll said Friday.

Le Drian will also meet his Jordanian, Saudi, Moroccan, and Palestinian counterparts, she added.

The meeting aims at reiterating the EU political, economic, and humanitarian support for the Palestinian Authority, the peace initiatives, especially those launched by AL to push forward the peace process, she said.

In the light of the continuation of Israeli settlement activities, European ministers are expected to reaffirm EU member states' commitment to reach a negotiated deal based on the two-state solution, the spokesperson added.
