CAIRO - 17 February 2018: Head of Egypt's National Press Authority Karam Gabr stressed on Saturday that the war launched by the Egyptian Armed Forces and police against terrorism complies with all international laws and UN conventions and aims at achieving security across the nation.

In a seminar organized by the authority in cooperation with the National Election Authority, Gabr said the Egyptian Armed Forces and police are waging a war to uproot terrorism in Egypt in general and in Sinai in particular.

As for the seminar, he said it aims at keeping journalists tasked with following up presidential elections updated with all details of the electoral process to ensure a good coverage of the vote.

Chairman of the National Election Authority Lashin Ibrahim, Minister of House of Representatives' Affairs Omar Marwan and editors in chief of national newspapers attended the seminar.

Abdel Mohsen Salama, head of the Syndicate of Journalists and board chairman of Al Ahram newspaper, lauded the idea of holding this seminar saying it aims at facilitating the work of journalists who will cover the presidential polls.

"What we really seek is to convey a true image of the electoral process and foil attempts by anti-Egypt media outlets to undermine the coming elections", he added.

The presidential elections will take place in March.

Incumbent President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, who is seeking a second four-year term, and head of the Ghad Party Moussa Mustafa Moussa, are running in the elections.
