CAIRO - 16 February 2018: Latvia’s Ambassador to Egypt Iveta Sulca discussed with Assistant Foreign Minister Amr Ramadan means of fostering the “cordial and friendly” relations between the two countries, the Latvian Embassy in Egypt said in a statement Friday.

The inauguration of a Latvian embassy in Cairo has resulted in an increase in Latvia’s exports to Egypt, Sulca said during the meeting.

In this regard, she urged Egypt to take a similar step and open an embassy in the Latvian capital, Riga.

Sulca and Ramadan discussed bilateral cooperation in the fields of education and culture in addition to parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, the statement said.

The embassy also revealed that Sulca has invited Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to visit Latvia.
