CAIRO- 8 February 2018: As many as 31 civilians have been killed in airstrikes in Eastern Ghouta, near the capital of Syria, said a UK-based observatory on Wednesday.

The toll includes 12 children, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was quoted by Sky News Arabia as saying.

The attacks, with artillery shelling, left 65 other people wounded, it added.

Yet, the Syrian government has repeatedly confirmed that it targets only militants in the rebel-held area.
