CAIRO – 6 February 2018: Egypt and the United Arab of Emirates have long maintained special relations, Egyptian Ambassador to the United Arab of Emirates Wael Gad said on Tuesday.

In a phone-in with TV program Sabah Dream, Gad added that the distinguished Emirati-Egyptian relations are embodied in the regular high-level exchange visits.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi arrived on Tuesday in the capital of the United Arab of Emirates (UAE), Abu Dhabi, where he will discuss the bilateral relations and regional and international issues of mutual concern, following a three-day visit to Oman Sultanate.

"The visit of President Sisi to the UAE, which came right after his visit to the Sultanate of Oman, aims to discuss issues of common interest," Gad added.

Sisi will meet with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The UAE is a strategic ally of Egypt and one of the Gulf countries that has supported President Sisi since he took power in June 2014.

Two days earlier, President Sisi met with the Oman’s Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said during his first-ever visit to Oman. Qaboos said that he appreciated Egypt’s role in enhancing the Gulf’s stability and security, according to a statement by Egyptian presidential spokesperson Bassam Radi on Sunday.
