CAIRO - 5 February 5, 2018: Egyptian Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ affairs Nabila Makram met on Monday the head of the National Elections Authority (NEA) Lasheen Ibrahim in order to study cooperation seeking to urge Egyptian expats to participate in the upcoming Presidential elections.

The meeting resulted in decisions to ease the voting process for the Egyptians living abroad such as adding the NEA’s website as an external link on the Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates official website.

The NEA will receive the expats’ enquiries online and give them the guidelines to be able to vote during the elections set to be held in March.

Makram has taken a tour abroad, meeting Egyptian communities in different countries to encourage expats to participate in the voting process, signed various protocols with those communities in order to secure a proper participation in the elections.

Makram is planning to visit both Gulf States of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait where a large Egyptian community resides; the Minister will clarify for expats the procedures ought to be taken in order to vote for their favored candidate.

Egyptian expats set to cast their votes in the upcoming Presidential elections on 16, 17 and 18 March, as long as they hold a valid residency Status in their host countries.
