Sisi: Egypt interested in developing relations with Angola in all fields

ADDIS ABABA - 29 January 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi conferred late Sunday with his Angolan counterpart Joao Lourenco at his residence, Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said in a Monday statement.

Sisi greeted Lurenco for his election as President of Angola, wishing him success during his presidential term, added the spokesman.

The President asserted that Cairo was interested in developing relations with Angola in all fields as well as increasing trade relations and exploring investment opportunities for the best interests of both sides, the spokesman said.

Sisi also asserted that Egypt was keen on cooperating with Angola in the field of building capabilities through the training programs offered by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) in all fields, he noted.

Lurenco, for his part, said his country is looking forward to cooperating with President Sisi in all fields in the coming phase in order to develop the two countries' relations in the various fields, Radi said.

The Angolan president also reviewed his country's efforts to upgrade its infrastructure after years of civil wars, noting that he is seeking to draw on Egypt's expertise in this regard.

Sisi voiced Egypt's readiness to help Angola in this regard and extend its expertise in all relevant fields.

Ambassador Radi also explained that the meeting took up means of buttressing cooperation in all fields, including terror combat and security, adding that the two presidents agreed on exchanging visits in the coming phase.
