2 suicide bombers killed, 2 others arrested in Sinai

CAIRO – 4 January 2018: Over the past two days, Law enforcement forces of the Third Field Army managed to eliminate two dangerous suicide bombers in Northern Sinai and to arrest two others, military spokesperson, Tamer al-Refae, announced on Thursday.

Also, the forces discovered two hideouts belonging to militants, where they discovered and seized large amounts of narcotics and a four-wheel drive.

This came within the armed forces ongoing counter-terrorism operations in North Sinai that are aimed at eliminating terrorists and Takfiri elements, and eradicating their breeding grounds and hotbeds.

North Sinai has been a staging ground for militants operating in Egypt for decades. It is also believed to be home to the Islamic State’s Egyptian branch, which has been primarily targeting Christians and security forces in the area.
