CAIRO – 31 December 2017: Head of the Egyptian Press Syndicate, Abdel Mohsen Salama, said he would invite several syndicates’ highly-profiled members to visit Helwan Coptic Church of Mar Mina on Christmas Day, January 7.

Salama recalled the recent terrorist attack that took place in November, when several militants stormed Al-Rawdah Mosque in west Arish City during Friday prayers, where about 305 people were reported dead following the attack.

“This affirms that the current situation imposes danger on all Egyptians. They want to demolish the country. We should all be aware of this trap,” he said.

Salama said he will also invite syndicates’ heads to a meeting next week in the headquarters of the Syndicate, as an effort to support the Egyptian state and counter terrorism.

On Friday morning, Mar Mina Church witnessed a terrorist attack; two armed assailants tried to storm the church located in Helwan.

The attack left several innocent people dead and injured, as the gunmen shot Christian worshippers along with security officers and neighboring residents.
