Iraqi veep sheds light on cooperation with Egypt

BAGHDAD - 25 December 2017: Iraqi vice President Nouri al Maliki has highlighted the importance of cementing cooperation with Egypt in various domains to meet the aspirations of the two peoples, especially after the reconstruction and holding elections in Iraq.

Mailiki's statements came in a meeting Monday with Egyptian ambassador in Baghdad Alaa Moussa, said Iraqi news agency (NINA).

Maliki praised the reconstruction process which followed the defeat of terrorists in the country, to allow the displaced to return to their homes.

For his part, the ambassador stressed the depth of relations binding the two countries at government and popular levels, expressing Egypt's commitment to offering all kinds of support to Iraq to help it reconstruct areas damaged by terrorism.
