CAIRO – 20 December 2017: The Egyptian Cabinet approved on Wednesday the establishment of a Supreme Committee for Medical Tourism which will take over preparations for a general plan project for the medical tourism system in Egypt.

The committee’s mission is to choose hospitals and human resources that can benefit the system and put into place the mechanism and follow ups. The committee is also responsible for monitoring the work to ensure that the service is functioning.

The move came within implementing recommendations of the conference held at Sharm El-Sheikh city in March under the theme of Egypt and Medical Tourism.

The committee aims to support Egypt’s role in carrying out the sustainable development plan of 2030. Meanwhile, the committee wants to lure foreign investment to Egypt for the establishment of projects that serve medical tourism and encourage participation of the civil community and private sector.
