CAIRO – 18 December 2017: Russia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) announced Monday that it had received 17.697 billion rubles ($301.6 million) to start the next presidential campaign, according to TASS Russian News Agency.

On December 15, Russia's Federation Council selected a date for the next presidential election campaign that it will be on March 18, 2018.

According to CEC Deputy Chairman Nikolai Bulayev, the funds will be transferred to the Russian territories on Tuesday.

Bulayev pointed out that the Foreign Ministry will get funds for conducting voting for Russian citizens living abroad.

"According to our calculations, the proper use of modern technologies that will be used at polling stations will create an electronic voting system for at least 30 million voters," he said.
