CAIRO - 13 December 2017: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark thanked President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi for telephoning him while undergoing a surgery in Germany.

During his weekly sermon on Wednesday, the pope extended thanks to Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb and Prime Minister Sherif Ismail who checked on him over phone.

Pope Tawadros returned home on Tuesday after undergoing a spinal surgery in Germany.

The pope also visited Austria for a few days before returning to homeland, wrapping up his three weeks' visit to the two European countries.
