CAIRO - 11 December 2017: Education and Technical Education Minister Tarek Shawki discussed with Laura Kansikas-Debraise and her accompanying delegation means of promoting joint cooperation in the field of developing education in Egypt.

In statements on Monday, the minister stressed the importance of exchanging expertise in the field of education as Finland is considered one of the best countries in that domainو especially that the ministry will implement radical change in the educational system.

Developing education in Egypt comes within the framework of the political leadership's directives that considers education as one of its priorities, Shawki underlined.

He further reiterated that the ministry will implement a new education system to be applied during the 2018/2019 academic year.

The new system pays attention to children who will be prepared for the future, he underscored, noting that it will instill sense of belonging to the homeland in the students.

The teachers will be trained so as to be qualified as they are an important aspect in the educational process, the minister affirmed.

For her part, the Finnish diplomat lauded the new reform programs targeting developing education in Egypt, stressing the importance of enhancing joint ties and partnership in the field of education.

She asserted that the Finnish educational system is one of the best in the world, adding that it goes in line with the goals and vision of developing education in Egypt.
