Al Wafd Party plans an American products’ boycott

CAIRO – 10 December 2017: Vice-chairman of Al Wafd Party Hossam Al Kholi called for a campaign in the Arab region to boycott the American products over the American President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem city as an Israeli capital.

Al Kholi urged the European States to participate in the planned campaign as several countries in the European Union (EU) reject the American President’s controversial call.

“Al Wafd Party will communicate with the political powers in the Arab, African and the European worlds to enhance the boycott call, in order to create a crucial stance against Trumps decision which puts a dead end on the path of the peace process”, said Al Kholi.

Al Kholi said that Al Wafd Party will declare a list of American products’ names to boycott, noting that the campaign cannot be adopted by governments, however the Arab nations can easily take part in it.

President Donald Trump made a decision on Wednesday to recognize Jerusalem city as a capital for Israel, in addition to moving the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

The decision sparked a wide-range controversy in the Arab and global arena, considered as a violation against the International laws, expected to erupt a vicious Anti-Americanism campaign worldwide.
