CAIRO – 9 December 2017: Egypt condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack on United Nations Peace-keeping forces in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, a statement by the Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

The terrorist attack led to the death of 15 soldiers and wounded 53 others from Tanzania and Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Foreign Ministry voiced Egypt's condolences to the victims’ families, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

Egypt affirmed the Egyptian government and people's support for Tanzania and Democratic Republic of the Congo in the face of terrorism, confirming the great effort of UN peace-keeping missions to confront terrorism and achieve security and stability, the statement added.
