CAIRO – 9 December 2017: Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa is set to take part in the meetings of the 4th Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, due to be held in the UAE, Abu Dhabi on December 11-13 under the theme “Global Peace and the Fear of Islam”.

The forum will be held under the auspices of UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and chaired by Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, the chairman of the forum.

Gomaa is scheduled to leave Sunday for Abu Dhabi and will chair the general session, dubbed “An Islamic Vision of World Peace”.

The minister told MENA Saturday that the forum is a great opportunity to correct the image of Islam in the West and hold consultations about adopting a unified stance toward the Jerusalem issue.

He lauded the vital role played by the forum, underlining that his keenness to attend such forums comes within the framework of strong relations binding Egypt and the UAE, in addition to coordination and cooperation taking place between the ministries of Awqaf in both countries and upon the invitation he received from the president of the forum.

The 4th Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies will discuss about 50 working papers and hold workshops on their topics.

This year’s edition will tackle roots and reasons of the mutual fear between Muslims and others.
