CAIRO - 4 December 2017: The Arab League council’s emergency meeting at the level of permanent representatives approved an Egyptian resolution aiming at developing an Arab scheme to combat terrorism, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said on Monday.

The Arab resolution lauded Egypt’s role and efforts in confronting terrorism field, he said, adding that the Arab representatives deplored al Rawda terror attack and other attacks committed by terrorist groups all over the world. The resolution also underlined the state’s right to take all measures aiming at facing terror threats.

The resolution said that combating terrorism is among human rights as announced earlier by Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

It also called for implementing the Egyptian initiative via holding a meeting at the level of Arab interior and justice ministers to activate security and judiciary agreements.
