LYON, France - 2 December 2017: Hundreds of French citizens participated in a rally in Lyon to condemn a recent deadly terrorist attack in Egypt's North Sinai.

The assembly was organized by the grand mosque in the French city in cooperation with 20 other mosques. A host of preachers and religious leaders participated as well as local officials, lawmakers and representatives of NGOs.

They raised banners saying "No to violence, hatred and terrorism". They expressed support for the victims’ families and the Egyptian people.

In exclusive statements to MENA, the head of the grand mosque in Lyon Kamal Kobtan said the terrorist attack on Al-Rawda mosque asserts that Muslims are the first victims of terrorism.

More than 300 people were killed in the attack.
